Dr. Alireza Minagar joined the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2001 and served as a professor and chairman through 2020. He engaged with patients and educated students, residents, and fellows on neurological subjects, ranging from multiple sclerosis to Parkinson’s disease. In 2016, Dr. Alireza Minagar played a crucial role in establishing the region’s first stroke center, and he accrued knowledge in various areas of neurology, including neuroimmunology, vascular neurology, neuroimaging, and neuropsychiatry.
Dr. Minagar received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Subsequently, Dr. Alireza Minagar completed an internal medicine internship at Mt. Vernon Hospital and a neurology residency at New York University. He concluded his medical training with a neurology residency and neuroimmunology fellowship at the University of Miami. In addition, he holds a master of science in bioinformatics, among other academic achievements and certifications as a Java programmer and Python developer.
